Things to do Before Scanning on a Mac

To begin using your Canon MX922 printer and scanner, you must install the necessary drivers onto your computer. You can find these drivers on the Setup CD that came with your printer or download them from the PIXMA MX922 downloads & drivers support tab.

Once the drivers are installed, you can connect the printer to your computer using either a USB cable or via Wi-Fi® on the network. Next, specify the destination and file name for your scanned documents using the Canon IJ Scan Utility, and learn how to adjust settings as needed.

The Canon MX922 scanner can handle various items, including photos, postcards, visiting cards, magazines, newspapers, documents, and BD/DVD/CD. However, some items may not be properly scanned, such as A4-sized photos, documents smaller than 5 inches x 7 inches, originals on thin white paper, and long and narrow originals like panoramic photographs.

Note that for OSX 10.12 Sierra users, push button scanning is not supported for USB cable-connected computers. Instead, you should use the IJ Scan utility for scanning.
